Position Overview

A leading multi-strategy hedge fund is seeking a senior professional to join its Capital Formation & Business Development team. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, cultivating, and securing capital commitments across the high-net-worth, RIA, family office, consultant, and institutional investor landscape.

The ideal hire is a polished, strategic relationship builder with a proven track record of raising capital across alternative investment strategies, paired with the ability to articulate complex investment concepts in a compelling, investor-centric manner. This is a high-visibility role requiring strong intellectual agility, excellent communication skills, and a disciplined, repeatable approach to fundraising.

Key Responsibilities Capital Formation & Relationship Management
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic relationships with HNWI, RIAs, single and multi-family offices, investment consultants, and institutional allocators
    .
  • Develop a deep understanding of investor priorities and tailor messaging to drive engagement and capital commitments.
  • Execute a structured, end-to-end fundraising process—from sourcing and initial outreach through closing and ongoing relationship management.
  • Maintain an active pipeline with strong visibility into investor status, timelines, and probability of close.
Marketing & Investor Engagement
  • Lead investor pitches, roadshows, and capital introduction events with clarity, confidence, and professional polish.
  • Translate complex multi-strategy investment concepts—including macro, credit, volatility arbitrage, and other hedge fund approaches—into compelling narratives aligned with investor objectives.
  • Refine and develop high-quality marketing materials (investor decks, DDQs, factsheets, RFP responses) that adhere to the firm’s messaging framework and regulatory guidelines.
Consultant & Intermediary Channel Coverage
  • Manage and expand relationships across investment consultant platforms
, serving as a trusted partner and navigating gatekeeper dynamics to unlock access to advisory channels.
  • Drive strategic engagement with intermediary platforms and ensure consistent representation of the firm’s investment capabilities.
Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers, Research, Legal/Compliance, and Investor Relations to ensure accurate delivery of information, documentation, and investor disclosures.
  • Maintain a strong compliance mindset with a thorough understanding of SEC marketing rules and fundraising requirements across AMER, EMEA, and APAC
    .
  • Leverage CRM systems to track investor interactions, pipeline status, and long-term relationship development.
Ownership, Accountability & Growth
  • Take clear ownership of fundraising objectives and AUM growth initiatives.
  • Develop and execute strategic capital raising plans across market cycles and evolving investor environments.
  • Serve as a senior representative of the firm, demonstrating maturity, reliability, and a commitment to long‑term relationship building.
Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in fundraising, investor relations, or business development within hedge funds, private equity, alternative asset management, or similar environments
    .
  • Demonstrated success in raising capital across diverse investor segments, including consultants.
  • Deep understanding of a broad range of hedge fund strategies and ability to tailor communication to sophisticated audiences.
  • Proven ability to run a structured, repeatable fundraising process from end to end.
  • Experience utilizing CRMs and investor databases.
  • Strong communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to build trust‑based relationships with discerning investors.
  • Strong understanding of global fundraising and marketing regulations (SEC, EMEA, APAC).

Preferred

  • Prior experience at a multi‑strategy hedge fund.
  • Existing relationships across RIAs, family offices, and consultant networks.
  • Experience crafting institutional‑quality marketing collateral.
