Overview
The Manager, Business Development is responsible for driving new client acquisitions in support of Petauri Kinect’s growth objectives. This role is focused on identifying, cultivating, and converting new pharmaceutical and life sciences prospects into high‑quality client relationships. The Manager supports the full new logo business development lifecycle, including prospecting, relationship development, pursuit planning, proposal development, and deal support. Success in this role is measured by qualified pipeline development, new client wins, and contribution to new logo revenue growth.
The manager will work closely with senior leadership and delivery teams to translate Petauri Kinect’s health system focused capabilities into differentiated, and compelling value propositions aligned with client needs.
- New Logo Development & Pipeline Growth
- Execute business development activities in support of Kinect’s new logo growth strategy.
- Build and actively manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities aligned to Kinect’s health system, market access, and brand strategy offerings.
- Identify and pursue priority pharmaceutical, biotech, and life sciences prospects.
- Lead early stage opportunity discussions including discovery calls, needs assessments, and solution alignment.
- Develop account entry approaches and pursuit plans with guidance from senior leadership.
- Prospecting & Relationship Development
- Leverage existing industry relationships and market knowledge to engage relevant decision makers.
- Cultivate relationships with prospective clients over time, building credibility and trust.
- Represent Petauri Kinect at select industry conferences and events to generate leads and expand market visibility.
- Provide leadership and support with proposals, pitches and RFPs.
- Partner with internal strategy, analytics, and delivery teams to align opportunities with Kinect capabilities.
- Maintain accurate pipeline tracking, target lists, and opportunity status reporting.
- Share market insights, client feedback, and competitive intelligence with leadership.
- Market Awareness & Opportunity Identification
- Monitor key trends in pharmaceutical marketing, health system engagement, and market access.
- Identify potential whitespace opportunities and flag emerging client needs.
- Contribute ideas that inform leadership discussions around future growth areas.
- Cross Functional Collaboration
- Lead RFI and RFP responses and pitch development in collaboration with leadership and internal teams.
- Contribute to the development of insight‑driven proposal narratives and client presentations.
- Manage pursuit work streams, timelines, and internal coordination to ensure high quality, and timely submissions.
- Partner with internal team members to shape client‑ready proposals and value narratives.
- Collaborate with marketing and other departments to ensure that business development strategies are aligned with overall company objectives.
- Liaison between business development, leadership, and delivery teams.
- Ensure internal stakeholders are aligned on priorities, deadlines, and expectations.
- Support post‑pitch debriefs and capture learnings to improve future pursuits.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging client needs.
- Leadership
- Manage Business Development Coordinator.
- Foster a culture of leadership, partnership, professionalism, innovation, integrity, accountability, and quality.
- Model executive presence with clients.
- Develop and refine methodologies for the Business Development team.
- Drive thought leadership and contribute to the development of the organization.
- Proactive problem solving by anticipating needs, identifying gaps, and taking initiative to keep pursuits moving forward.
- Finance
- Ensure alignment between labor allocation, resource management, and financial targets.
- Understand basic financial drivers (pricing, margins, cost structure, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing, healthcare consulting, agency business development, or related fields.
- Prior experience in business development support, sales coordination, marketing operations, or professional services.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading new client pursuits in a service‑based environment.
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment with evolving priorities.
- Clear, professional communicator who effectively coordinates across teams and levels of leadership.
- Highly detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Ability to travel as needed for client and leadership meetings.
