TEAM AND ROLE

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Contracts Manager. In this role you will support our environmental certificates and renewable gas trading operations by drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts and agreements from initiation to completion. You will play a key part in maintaining accurate contract records, driving process efficiency through automation, and ensuring smooth stakeholder collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversees the full lifecycle of complex energy, commodity, and environmental certificate contracts, specializing in the drafting and negotiating master trading agreements, such as EEIs, PPAs, NAESBs, etc.
  • Lead complex commercial and operational negotiations, including regular interaction with senior leaders and external counter parties.
  • Collaborate with front and back office to ensure commercial, legal, risk, and credit objectives are identified and achieved in the final contract terms.
  • Apply strong understanding of energy industry processes and operations that support the effective management and execution of contracts.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage various commodity and trading-related contracts (both physical and financial), as well as non-disclosure agreements, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage the contract lifecycle from initiation to completion.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree and/or JD.
  • 3–5+ years of experience negotiating contracts in a commodity trading and/or energy environment and collaborating with front and back office teams.
  • Demonstrable experience conducting complex commercial and operational negotiations, with regular exposure to senior leadership and external counter parties.
  • Experience with energy industry processes and operations that support contract lifecycle management.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, especially with document control and tracking deliverables.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Must be New York–based and able to be in office 3 days per week.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

STX intends on offering the selected candidate a competitive base salary within the range of $90,000 USD – $115,000 based on several objective factors such as relevant experience, location, holistic skillset, and applicable licenses and certifications. The candidate may also be eligible for discretionary compensation as determined annually within the company fiscal year.
