Gersh is seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Assistant to support the Head of the Theatre Department at our NYC office. This department works with and represents playwrights, directors, composers, and designers on Broadway, off‑Broadway, worldwide and regional stages. Candidate must have 1+ years of entertainment industry experience, ideally supporting a busy executive on a desk in an administrative function. Exceptional critical reading and writing skills are a must.
Note, this position will require a high level of accounting and math knowledge.
- Provide administrative support, including phone and calendar management, expense reports, and travel coordination.
- Manage accounting tasks and process all theatre commission checks and contracts.
- Oversee client management, including payments, contract tracking, submissions, and scheduling.
- Review and evaluate a high volume of written material.
- Communicate professionally with clients, managers, producers, and executives.
- Create memos and enter new bookings in Trust for department agents.
- Draft licensing agreements as needed.
- Maintain and update all departmental lists (e.g., Client, Theatre, Commercial Producers, Directors).
- Strong accounting and math skills are required.
- Desire to pursue a career as an agent and an avid reader with a strong interest in theatre.
- 1+ years of professional experience within the entertainment industry (at an agency/management company, preferred)
- High level of initiative and capable of managing one's time and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude, highly organized, and ability to work well under pressure.
$21/hour + Full benefits
