Rare Earths Trader

Key Responsibilities:

• Originate, structure, and execute physical trading strategies in rare earth elements (REEs) and related critical minerals
• Develop and manage supplier and customer relationships across producers, refiners, industrial end-users, and strategic partners
• Identify and capitalize on arbitrage opportunities across geographies and value chains
• Monitor global supply/demand dynamics, policy developments, and geopolitical trends impacting critical minerals markets
• Collaborate with logistics, operations, risk, and finance teams to ensure efficient trade execution and risk management
• Contribute to the strategic development of the rare earths platform, including new market entry and product expansion
• For senior candidates: lead book strategy, mentor junior traders, and drive desk P&L growth

We are open to candidates at multiple trading experience levels. Ideal backgrounds may include:

• Experience in physical metals, concentrates, alloys, or critical minerals trading
• Exposure to rare earth elements (e.g., neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, terbium, lanthanum, cerium) is highly desirable
• Experience in adjacent markets such as base metals, minor metals, battery materials, or specialty materials will also be considered
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to manage risk and P&L
• Strong understanding of global trade flows, logistics, and contract structures
• Strong relationship management and negotiation skills
• Physical commodities trading & deal execution

• Strong commercial and analytical mindset

Junior candidates with strong industry experience and commercial foundations may be considered for development-oriented roles within the team.
