Bruker Microbiology & Infection Diagnostics (BMID) provides advanced solutions for the rapid identification and analysis of microorganisms, supporting both clinical microbiologists and those in industrial and applied microbiology. Their technologies are designed to address the increasing diversity and complexity of microorganisms that infect humans and animals.

We’re looking for a hands‑on Software Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of the BMID software portfolio used in clinical and research microbiology workflows worldwide. The role owns market outcomes across RUO/Industry and IVD‑regulated segments, partnering closely with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Commercial, Service & Support teams.

The ideal candidate brings strong product management expertise, experience in laboratory informatics or microbiology‑related software, and a passion for building innovative, compliant, user‑centered solutions that make a real impact on patient care and scientific discovery.

In Bremen for our BMID division we are looking for a full‑time Software Product Manager (m/f/d).

Aufgaben /Verantwortlichkeiten
  • Develop and own the short and long term strategy and the roadmap for BMID software portfolio.
  • Conduct market assessment, competitive analysis and technology evaluation to identify opportunities for innovation, differentiation and BMID business growth.
  • Align software portfolio strategy with business objectives, customer needs and regulatory and market segment specific trends.
  • Drive the full product lifecycle from initiation to launch, through commercialization to discontinuation.
  • Develop compelling value propositions, manage pricing strategies and pricing models.
  • Serve as the voice of the customers, gather user requirements and translate market needs.
  • Ensure that the product documentation and communication are clear and customer focused.
  • Coordinated portfolio priorities within established Governance and contribute to prioritisation workshops and decision gates.
  • Lead cross‑functional launch readiness with Marketing, Sales and Support.
  • Monitor adoption, customer feedback, quality of the related portfolio and commercial KPIs; run post‑release improvements.
  • Communicate portfolio performance, insights, risks, and strategic recommendations to leadership and cross‑functional partners.
  • Supporting global commercial organisations or working closely with sales, marketing, or business development. Representation of products on trade shows and user meetings.
Qualifikationen
  • Master's degree or higher in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in software Product Management, Product Owner, Program Management; with at least 2 years in life sciences, diagnostics, laboratory informatics, or healthcare IT.
  • Proven experience managing complex software products or platforms with global customer bases.
  • Experience in coordinating cross‑functional teams and managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Familiarity with global regulatory environments for laboratory or IVD or MD software.
  • Prior experience in product portfolio management or platform modernization initiatives.
  • Strong commercial mindset in managing software portfolio, experience with SaaS. Experience with business models for cloud‑based services is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a structured manner.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic, evolving product environment.
  • Self‑motivated and proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Experience working with product roadmaps, backlog management, and agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Fluent English skills (German desired).
