GP Engagement Managers serve as a primary relationship and coordination point between investment teams and General Partners. The role combines relationship management, analytical support, and operational coordination to ensure effective communication, data flow, and ongoing engagement throughout the fund lifecycle.
These roles often involve close collaboration with investment professionals, portfolio management, legal, operations, and investor relations teams.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a primary point of contact for General Partner relationships
- Coordinate ongoing communications, data requests, and reporting with GPs
- Support GP onboarding, diligence processes, and operational reviews
- Track fund performance, capital activity, and key GP updates
- Prepare briefing materials, summaries, and insights for internal investment teams
- Monitor GP compliance with reporting standards, timelines, and information requests
- Maintain internal GP databases, CRM systems, and engagement records
- Identify engagement risks, process inefficiencies, and opportunities to enhance collaboration
- Support annual reviews, meetings, and ad-hoc GP interactions
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- Strong understanding of private markets and GP–LP relationships
- Experience or coursework in private equity, venture capital, or private credit (preferred but not required)
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with CRM tools, data platforms, or reporting systems is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interest in private capital markets and relationship-driven investing
