The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is the executive owner of the company’s end-to-end commercial ecosystem. This role is accountable for designing, operating, and continuously improving a disciplined, scalable commercial operating system that integrates Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Customer Success, and Commercialization.
The CCO is responsible for driving sustained, profitable growth by aligning market insight, customer partnerships, and innovation commercialization with the company’s manufacturing capabilities and operational execution. This role ensures growth is not only won, but delivered, scaled, and retained.
This is an onsite executive leadership role requiring regular in-person engagement with internal teams, customers, and partners.
Sales, Revenue & Business Development Leadership- Lead all inbound and outbound sales activities from opportunity origination through contract execution
- Implement and enforce a structured, repeatable sales methodology appropriate for complex B2B manufacturing relationships
- Drive disciplined pipeline management, forecast accuracy, and deal quality
- Lead strategic account acquisition and enterprise-level partnerships
- Ensure commercial commitments are executable, scalable, and aligned with long-term operational and financial objectives
- Own the full post-sale customer lifecycle including onboarding, commercialization, steady-state execution, retention, and expansion
- Establish and govern clear commercialization stage-gates from pilot trials through signed business, first production, and ongoing supply
- Ensure seamless handoff and collaboration across Commercial, Operations, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain teams
- Build and lead structured strategic account management and joint business planning for priority customers
- Act as executive sponsor for key accounts, ensuring accountability, customer satisfaction, and long-term partnership health
- Own go-to-market strategy, value proposition development, and the company’s commercial narrative
- Lead market intelligence, category insight, and competitive analysis to inform strategy and prioritization
- Translate customer needs and market trends into clear, actionable commercial opportunities
- Ensure marketing initiatives directly support high-quality pipeline creation, sales effectiveness, and customer growth
- Position the company as a preferred, long-term commercialization and manufacturing partner in priority categories
- Partner closely with Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance to ensure commercial strategy is grounded in execution reality
- Influence capacity planning, investment priorities, and platform evolution through demand-driven insight
- Champion cross-functional collaboration, decision discipline, and accountability
- Uphold a customer-centric, data-driven, and execution-focused culture across the enterprise
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, multi-disciplinary commercial organization
- Establish clear accountability, performance expectations, and development pathways
- Mentor and develop senior leaders across sales, marketing, customer success, and commercialization
- Attract, retain, and scale top commercial talent as the organization grows
