What we do
The Corporate Development team at the Trade Desk plays a pivotal role in helping TTD develop medium and long‑term strategies and execute transactions that keep us on the leading edge of the advertising technology market.
What you’ll do- Collaborate with product and business leaders to think about corporate development opportunities in a systematic and routine fashion; keep an ongoing flow of ideas that is aligned with the Company’s objectives and values.
- Collaborate across functions to support the annual business planning processes and ensure that long‑term strategies are woven into actionable annual and long‑range plans.
- Coordinate cross‑functional exploratory and execution teams to analyze products, people and technologies that fit within the Trade Desk long‑term strategy.
- Develop acquisition business‑case analyses, interfacing with finance, accounting, legal, tax, HR and other departments to ensure seamless deal execution.
- Manage operational and financial integration work streams for acquired businesses, including leading cross‑departmental teams and measuring ongoing success.
- Critically analyze all opportunities for fit within TTD and impact on the broader advertising technology ecosystem.
- Develop deep and trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, external companies, VCs, sponsors and investment banks active in the space.
- BA/BS degree in finance, accounting, economics or an applicable field; JD / MBA from a top‑tier institution or equivalent experience preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in corporate development and strategy, investment banking, private equity, and/or venture capital.
- Critical thinking – ability to look through investment highlights to deeply understand and communicate underlying technologies and market positions, and to highlight risks and benefits to TTD and the wider ecosystem.
- Deep understanding of advertising technology and/or software markets, trends, and dynamics.
- Proven subject‑matter expertise in all aspects of the M&A process including diligence, coordination, valuation, deal structuring, negotiation, execution and integration planning.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous high‑priority projects (often including project management of cross‑functional teams).
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting concepts.
- Proven track record of building financial models and ad‑hoc analyses to distill complex problems into digestible insights.
- Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with experience in building relationships across teams, presenting insights and recommendations to senior management and business leaders.
- Tenacity to develop ideas independently and strong business sense, with the ability to understand changing industry forces and focus on relevant KPIs.
- Ability to thrive in a high growth and entrepreneurial environment where strong project management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities are a must.
- High personal and professional integrity with can‑do attitude to dig into anything and everything to support the business.
