Role OverviewThe Director of Business Development will lead institutional growth initiatives, driving new business, strategic partnerships, and revenue expansion across key client segments. This role works closely with the CEO and executive leadership to identify, originate, and structure opportunities in banking, credit, and advisory services, while positioning the firm as a trusted long-term partner for institutional capital solutions.
This is a senior, outward facing role for someone who thrives in relationship driven environments and enjoys building from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute business development strategies to grow institutional relationships
- Originate, structure, and close new opportunities across banking, credit, and advisory offerings
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with financial institutions and capital providers
- Collaborate closely with credit, risk, treasury, and operations teams to deliver customized solutions
- Represent the firm in client meetings, conferences, and industry events
- Maintain strong CRM discipline and provide market insights to inform leadership decisions
- 7+ years of experience in institutional banking, capital markets, asset management, or related financial services
- Proven track record of originating and managing senior level institutional relationships; the right candidate will have experience in Business Development or Institutional Sales
- Strong understanding of structured finance, credit products, and liquidity solutions
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with executive level stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Base salary range: $180,000-$225,000
- Meaningful equity participation
- Performance-based bonus
- Final compensation will depend on experience, scope, and level of ownership
- Ideally located in New York, however, San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, or Boston also work
