Position Overview

Our client is a rapidly scaling, private equity-backed environmental services platform operating across the Northeast. Led by an experienced executive team with a strong history of building and scaling environmental services businesses, the company is executing an aggressive growth strategy through organic expansion and acquisitions.

The platform has grown quickly through multiple acquisitions and greenfield developments and now offers a vertically integrated suite of environmental services, including waste hauling and processing, industrial services, remediation, and emergency response. With institutional capital in place and additional acquisitions planned, the business is positioned to become a leading super-regional provider across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

This Business Development Manager role is a critical, revenue-generating hire supporting the next phase of growth.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity for a driven, entrepreneurial business development professional to capitalize on a highly advantaged market position.

  • The business is a profitable environmental and industrial services provider operating in a region with limited direct competition.
  • A newly commissioned, state-permitted non-hazardous waste processing facility enables the company to internalize disposal, expand margins, and offer third-party disposal and trucking services to an under-served regional market.
  • There are no comparable facilities within a wide multi-state radius, meaning much of the waste generated in the region is currently transported long distances at premium pricing.
  • The facility is permitted to handle both bulk and containerized liquid and solid waste streams and includes:
    • Multiple solidification pits
    • Onsite water treatment
    • Short-duration permits for operational flexibility
    • Certified scales and real-time data reporting
  • The platform is supported by a modern, large-scale fleet, including roll-off containers, frac tanks, yellow iron, and ancillary equipment.
  • The company is actively pursuing additional acquisitions and expects rapid growth through M&A over the coming years.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive new business development across industrial, environmental, and waste services accounts within the assigned territory.
  • Prospect, qualify, and close new customers, with a strong focus on new logo acquisition.
  • Sell integrated service offerings, including hauling, processing, industrial services, and disposal.
  • Develop relationships with industrial plants, terminals, manufacturers, and high-volume waste generators.
  • Identify opportunities to expand wallet share by leveraging the company’s vertically integrated operating model.
  • Work closely with operations and leadership to ensure successful onboarding and long-term account growth.
  • Support commercial expansion tied to new facilities and acquisitions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Proven hunter with experience selling into industrial plants, terminals, or similar operational environments.
  • Comfortable with frequent regional travel across Upstate New York.
  • Strong business development mindset with a desire to directly influence earnings through performance-based compensation.
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to build trust and long-term customer relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Background in environmental services, waste management, industrial cleaning, or related sectors.
  • Alternatively, brings a transferable book of industrial or manufacturing customers.
  • Motivated by growth, competition, and taking market share.
  • Interested in being part of an acquisitive, fast-scaling platform and contributing to post-acquisition growth.
