Overview

The Director of Commercial Operations will serve as a key strategic leader driving operational excellence and commercial performance across GLG’s Corporate & Law business. This management role is responsible for shaping and executing global operational strategies, optimizing sales processes, and enabling revenue growth through data-driven insights and innovation. This leader will oversee territory design, account planning, pipeline governance, and operational frameworks that scale across regions.

Additionally, this leader will spearhead one or more global Centers of Excellence to ensure best practices, consistency, and continuous improvement across all commercial operations functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic & Operational Leadership
    • Business-aligned Strategy:
      Define and implement global commercial operations strategy aligned with GLG business objectives.
    • Transformation Initiatives:
      Lead one or more global Centers of Excellence to drive standardization, share best practices, and foster innovation across regions and business segments.
    • Performance Management:
      Partner with senior leadership to support monthly and quarterly business reviews, providing actionable insights for strategic decision-making. Ensure dashboards appropriately track revenue, pipeline, and operational KPIs for Corporate & Law. (Development of dashboards will be managed by another team). Maintain regular meeting cadence with Leaders.
    • Go-to-Market Execution:
      Operationalize new commercial/pricing strategies. Coordinate new product and workflow tool (e.g., Client View) introduction working collaboratively with Product, Marketing, Expert Management teams.
    • Process Improvements:
      Continuously evaluate and refine commercial processes to improve scalability, efficiency, and impact. Drive initiatives that enhance the productivity and engagement of client-facing professionals. Collaborate with Leadership to determine ownership based on relevance and strategic priorities.
  • Sales Operations & Enablement
    • Territory Design & Management:
      Develop and maintain territory structures – working with Sales leadership – to ensure balanced coverage and growth opportunities across Corporate & Law subsegments. Monitor territory performance and recommend adjustments based on market trends and business priorities.
    • Pipeline Review & Forecasting:
      Support regular pipeline reviews with Sales leadership to ensure accuracy and health of the pipeline. Build on existing processes to enhance visibility and discipline in pipeline management. Explore opportunities to evolve current practices.
    • Account Planning Support:
      Partner with Leadership to facilitate annual and quarterly account planning processes.
    • Data Insights:
      Provide data-driven insights to identify growth opportunities and prioritize strategic accounts.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial operations, sales operations, or business operations roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Excel, and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    Comfort with CRM systems, reporting tools, and automation platforms.
