The Business Director works closely with cross-functional teams across the organization to manage the full product lifecycle, including go‑to‑market strategy, service delivery, product management, R&D, legal, finance, and commercial strategy. The role is responsible for the financial performance of a dedicated product or service—budget, revenue, bookings, and the commercial roadmap—while ensuring strong alignment between business objectives and market demand. Additionally, the Business Director gathers market intelligence, monitors industry trends, and builds and maintains relationships with a network of external partners and vendors.
Key Responsibilities- Research market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to support product and business decisions.
- Assist in defining market requirements for products, ensuring they align with company objectives.
- Define competitive landscape and identify potential build, buy & partner opportunities to accelerate the roadmap.
- Support leadership in shaping product strategy to address industry and client needs.
- Oversee assigned product roadmaps and program execution from concept to launch.
- Contribute to revenue growth, bookings, and successful product delivery to market.
- Establish and maintain a network of partners, industry and sales‑channel partners to support product launch, sales, implementation, and adoption.
- Build product definition and work closely with Product Marketing and Commercialization teams on segmentation, messaging, positioning, and pricing.
- Set and communicate timelines and resource implications tied to major initiatives.
- Act as a cross‑functional leader and point of contact with other teams and stakeholders across the business unit and corporate groups.
- Collaborate with Commercial Strategy, Finance, Sales, and Marketing to track pricing models and KPIs such as market share, customer acquisition, and retention, and propose actions to improve metrics.
- Promote a positive and inclusive team culture, fostering collaboration across departments.
- Draft and present business plans for identified opportunities to senior leadership.
- Support the creation, publication, and presentation of thought leadership content—including webinars, articles, and whitepapers.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field;
Master’s degree is an asset. - 7+ years of experience in business strategy, product marketing, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of market research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation.
- Experience with pricing models and go‑to‑market strategies.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Domain knowledge in technology or commercial real estate is preferred.
