The Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA) represents one of the nation’s most active and respected automotive dealer communities. We support franchised new car dealerships through advocacy, education, events, and programs that strengthen the automotive retail industry in the Metro New York Area.
About the RoleThe Director of Membership leads the growth, development, retention, and satisfaction of our dealer and allied members. This person is the main point of contact for members and the driver behind programs and events that keep our community connected.
Key Responsibilities Membership Growth and Retention- Recruit, retain, and engage dealer and allied members throughout the Greater New York region.
- Develop and execute strategies that increase participation, strengthen relationships, and boost member satisfaction.
- Maintain a consistent presence with members through visits, calls, and ongoing communication.
- Provide accurate, timely information about GNYADA initiatives, resources, and programs.
- Advocate for member interests and ensure they receive full value from their membership.
- Grow and manage relationships with allied members, including vendors and industry partners that support dealerships.
- Create opportunities for allied members to participate, support, and add value to dealer operations.
- Identify, secure, and manage sponsor ships that help offset the cost of association events and initiatives.
- Build long term partnerships that support both the association and participating businesses.
- Plan, organize, and execute association events such as the annual golf outing, educational programs, networking events, and other association gatherings.
- Oversee logistics, budgets, vendors, marketing, and onsite coordination.
- Work with internal teams to deliver smooth, high quality events.
- At least 5 years of experience in membership management, business development, association work, or a related field.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects, timelines, and multiple priorities.
- Event planning experience preferred.
- Experience with CRM or membership tracking systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry is helpful but not required.
This role offers a salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package with health and dental coverage, a 401(k) matching plan, and flexible spending accounts.
