Job Title: Manager – Purchase (IA & Controllers)
Function: Purchase
Location: Navi Mumbai
Reporting to: Partner

A. ROLE PURPOSE

Responsible for supporting production operations by procuring electronic items and materials necessary for the manufacturing of industrial controllers. The role collaborates closely with production planning, manages vendor relationships, and oversees the procurement of both standard and customized components.

B. KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures seamless production by providing timely access to required materials.
  • Collaborates with production teams to understand material needs and maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Sources and procures electronic components and items needed for controller manufacturing.
  • Identifies reliable suppliers and negotiates terms and agreements.
  • Works closely with production planning to align procurement efforts with the target of producing 40,000 controllers per month.
  • Ensures timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Differentiates between items that can be used readily in our products and those that require customization.
  • Plans and procures both standard and customized components accordingly.
  • Develops a procurement plan for imported bought-out materials with a focus on a 3‑month horizon.
  • Ensures compliance with import regulations and manages customs clearance processes.
  • Manages relationships with fixed vendors, both domestic and international, who supply 90% of the materials.
  • Evaluates vendor performance and maintains a vendor rating system.
  • Oversees the procurement of transformers exclusively from the domestic market, including locations such as Delhi, Chennai, Pune, and Bangalore.
  • The role does not involve any travel, ensuring focused efforts on procurement activities.
  • Procures materials exclusively from authorized distributors of OEMs to ensure product quality and authenticity.
  • Handles non‑standard procurement, which accounts for 20% of monthly procurement needs.
  • Navigates complexities in sourcing unique or specialized components.
C. TEAM MANAGEMENT SKILLS
  • Leadership: The ability to lead and motivate a team, providing clear direction and guidance. Inspire and influence team members to achieve common goals.
  • Time Management: Help team members prioritize tasks and manage their time effectively. Set realistic deadlines and ensure the team has the necessary resources to complete their work efficiently.
  • Motivation and Recognition: Recognize and reward team members for their accomplishments and hard work. Motivate and inspire the team to achieve their best through positive reinforcement and acknowledgment of their contributions.

D. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. MBA is a plus.

Experience: Proven experience in procurement and vendor management, preferably in the industrial automation.

E. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENT Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Knowledge of import regulations and customs clearance processes.
  • Familiarity with OEMs and authorized distributor networks.
