The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation. Role PurposeThe Lead, Diesel Procurement Role is responsible for ensuring the reliable supply of materials, equipment, and services to support plant operations, achieved through on‑time delivery, cost‑effective procurement, high‑quality standards, and supplier performance management. The role focuses on minimizing inventories while optimizing material utilization and supporting competitive cost structures.
Key Responsibilities- Champion the corporate Global Buying Policy, ensuring compliance and educating plant end‑users.
- Collaborate with GSM business supply managers and category managers to develop and execute short‑ and long‑term strategic sourcing plans.
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives within the plant supply chain and support GSM‑led initiatives.
- Ensure reliable supply of raw materials, packaging, consumables, spare parts, and MRO equipment for the plant’s continuous manufacturing operations.
- Prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations, and proposals with detailed specifications and terms.
- Conduct supplier negotiations to secure maximum value.
- Oversee inventory management, minimizing materials on hand and addressing obsolete or slow‑moving items.
- Manage the integrated storeroom solution and develop strong relationships with suppliers.
- Own supplier relationship management, including performance measurement and corrective action.
- Provide procurement leadership to support plant initiatives and develop annual budgets for the procurement function.
- Provide guidance and leadership to direct reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related concentration (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Business Administration/Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management, including sourcing, inventory management, and logistics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with systems such as People Soft/PRISM, SAP, Ariba, or similar
- Supervisory experience is preferred
- Experience as a plant or corporate buyer preferred
- Relevant certifications (CPM, CSCP, CPIM, etc.)
- Knowledge of SOX compliance
- This position will be based at Corning, NY (HQ) and onsite 5‑days per week.
- Less than 10% travel

The range for this position is $ – $ assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
