Principal Product Manager – Platform (Relocate to the UK)

Join Samsara, a pioneer of Connected Operations Cloud, as a Principal Product Manager for the Reporting Platform. This role is based in the UK; we provide relocation and sponsorship assistance.

Who We Are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, a platform that enables organizations with physical operations to harness IoT data for actionable insights and improved operations. We transform industries that represent more than 40% of global GDP, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing.

About the role

This is a defining opportunity to serve as the Strategic Owner of Samsara’s Reporting Platform—a unified analytics layer that transforms our massive, multi-product data streams into customer value. The platform is highly strategic: your work will directly impact Samsara’s revenue growth by enabling customers to realize the value of their data through native, custom, and AI‑enhanced reports and visualizations.

In this role, you will
  • Pioneer the 3‑5 year strategic roadmap and architecture for the Reporting Platform, positioning it as a core differentiator and multi‑hundred‑million‑dollar platform for the business.
  • Define the strategy for incorporating AI/ML tools into data exploration and visualization, transforming raw data into prescriptive, actionable insights for customers.
  • Influence executive leadership and cross‑product teams on critical investment areas, long‑term technical debt reduction, and data governance standards.
  • Own the vision for cross‑product data analysis, ensuring seamless and high‑performance reporting across Telematics, Safety, Equipment Monitoring, and future product lines.
  • Partner with customer‑facing teams to close strategic enterprise accounts and build executive‑level relationships with top customers, serving as the platform’s product evangelist.
  • Drive the definition of the most important customer problems to solve, leveraging data and market needs to build the long‑term strategy and work backwards from winning.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural values as we scale globally.
Minimum requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive experience, including 7+ years in product management, with a proven track record of operating and delivering complex, multi‑year initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in large‑scale data platforms, business intelligence (BI) tools, or customer‑facing reporting/analytics products.
  • Excellent technical understanding with an ability to grasp and lead strategic discussions on data warehousing, data quality, data integrity, and API design.
  • Exceptional strategic mindset and analytical skills, capable of synthesizing disparate customer insights and market data into a cohesive, high‑impact product strategy.
  • Proven track record of delivering outstanding results for customers and the business, managing significant complexity and ambiguity independently.
  • Superior executive communication skills, comfortable presenting and defending complex strategy to customers, executives, and broad internal audiences.
Ideal candidate also has
  • Experience driving complex technical initiatives involving multiple internal Platform and Product stakeholders.
  • Prior experience working on products involving both external (customer‑facing) and internal stakeholders for roadmap planning and development.
  • A technical background (e.g., software engineering, data science) or a deep technical education (Bachelor’s or Master’s in a technical field).
  • History of working on highly successful B2B enterprise products.
