Job Purpose

The role is to manage the P 2 P (procure‑to‑pay) process for materials, Opex and services, ensuring cost‑effective purchasing while maintaining quality and compliance standards. This involves supplier management, negotiation, contract development, process optimization, automation, and reporting to support the organization’s operational needs.

Key Accountabilities
  • Execute end‑to‑end procurement process, RFQ, negotiation, and contract agreements to secure right price and on‑time payment, while resolving invoice queries.
  • Create and manage purchase orders in SAP based on purchase requisitions for services, contracts, lab consumables, and miscellaneous items, ensuring accuracy and alignment with end‑user requirements.
  • Procure Opex and services (testing, calibration, PMP, rate contracts, etc.) in close collaboration with end users.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers/vendors to ensure compliance with quality standards, timely delivery, and cost competitiveness.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop alternative vendors to diversify supply base, mitigate risks, and maintain continuous supply.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, implementing corrective actions to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics activities, tariff impact, freight to optimize transportation and logistics costs.
  • Coordinate with end users to manage inventory levels via SAP, preventing stockouts.
  • Create and analyze PR‑PO conversion, open order, and spend analysis reports to track and improve procurement processes.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements, implementing strategies to enhance procurement efficiency.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders to address issues and ensure alignment with procurement strategies.
  • Prepare detailed meeting minutes for transparent information sharing.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and organizational policies, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve procurement processes and drive strategic initiatives, staying informed about industry trends and best practices.
  • Manage procurement of materials and components to meet production schedules, negotiating terms for best discounted pricing.

  • Suppliers – cost negotiation, material procurement, technical support, regulatory documents, custom clearance permits, approvals
  • Service providers – transporters, freight forwarders, CHA
Skills & Knowledge Educational qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in chemical/engineering related field.

Relevant experience
  • 3+ years in operations, procurement, vendor negotiation, agreements and rate contracts, project management, supplier management, and logistics.
  • Experience in materials/parts purchase, data analysis, reporting, and strategic insights.
  • Familiarity with procurement software tools, SAP, Microsoft Office, GMP, and documentation best practices.
  • Understanding of supply chain and inventory management, forecasting, budgeting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with ability to convey complex information clearly to senior management.
  • Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally, manage risk, and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Proven track record in vendor management, alternate vendor development, and database creation.
