Roundabout Theatre Company, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit theatres, seeks an energetic, personable individual to join the company as the Management Associate
. This position reports to the Incoming Managing Director and calls for an individual to provide strong administrative support for her as well as to the Executive Producer and other members of the Management Department. This candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills, be adept at managing calendars, and some knowledge of theatrical production, particularly in New York/Broadway. This position will begin in December prior to the Managing Director starting full time on January 5th, 2026.
Associate Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Managing Director and Executive Producer including managing calendars and scheduling meetings (both internal and external), coordinating travel, booking meeting spaces, note taking, providing research, organizing and maintaining files, creating spreadsheets or other tracking documents and fielding phone calls
- Serve as a liaison for all departments in the company, particularly General Management, Marketing, Finance, IT, Criterion Ticketing, and Audience Services
- Assist the Administration Department in labor relations coordination and research
- Draft internal and external correspondence on behalf of the Administration Department
- Monitor and reconcile department budgets and spending through invoice coding and processing
- With Senior Officer, Board Relations & Governance, coordinate meetings with key board members and board committees for the Managing Director
- Assist in planning All Staff Meetings as well as other staff events
- May provide support for the management of show rentals in any of the Roundabout theatres, as well as help facilitate Capital Projects
- May provide support for the General Managers on production related tasks including contract drafting, budgeting, budget tracking, and other tasks related to the shows
- Keep abreast of all news and current topics in the Broadway and larger New York theatrical community
- Other duties and projects as assigned by Managing Director
- At least two years of administrative work experience, preferably in the theatrical industry. Experience managing Outlook calendar a plus
- Prior work experience in professional theatre
- Personable and approachable with the ability to collaborate across departments and with employees at all levels of the organization
- Excellent attention to detail
- Computer savvy in Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects
- Superior organizational and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Able to lift 20 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
The salary is $55,000–$60,000 annually plus any overtime for hours worked over 40 in a workweek. This role may require some weekday nights and weekends for events (notice will always be provided in advance). This role is required to be in our midtown office. This is a full-time position with the standard Roundabout benefits package that includes medical plan paired with a health reimbursement account, dental, vision, 401k with 5% employer contribution, PTO, LTD, and life insurance.
