Job Description
The Affordable Housing & Real Estate Practice Group Support Specialist is responsible for managing various aspects of the transactional process within the New York City affordable housing practice group. This position is among a dynamic team of attorneys and paralegals. This position requires an onsite work arrangement. A hybrid schedule may be considered ranging from 1-2 days remote after an onboarding period.

Location: New York City, NY
- Serve as a point of contact for clients and work with attorneys and paralegals to ensure prompt service to clients.
- Assist with preparation of proposals and deal summaries and full range of client management activities.
- Assist with all aspects of deal closings. This includes: monitoring and tracking deadlines for diligence, agency submissions, bond and credit approvals, financing conditions, and closing milestones; organizing and maintaining matter files and data rooms; diligence deal tracking, including tracking deliverables, contingencies and approvals through closing; assisting with preparation and timely delivery of closing binders.
- Prepare signature page packets and track the receipt of executed signature pages along with coordination with clients, co‑counsel, lenders, agencies, counter parties and the title company regarding the same.
- Manage various aspects of document creation and review, including creating first drafts of key documents, updating deal documents with comments from opposing counsel, checking documents for spelling/grammar errors, reviewing revisions on non‑NP controlled docs and highlighting substantive changes for attorneys, and redacting legal documents.
- Coordinate team activities, such as housing industry event registration and attendance, as well as team deal and staffing tracking
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements- 0-3 years of relevant experience within a law firm setting.
- Bachelor's degree required. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail with the ability to handle difficult situations and meet varying deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to work with personnel at all levels in a variety of areas.
- Strong research, proofreading and editing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel and Power Point), web‑based collaboration tools and document management, including Net Documents.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to thrive in a high‑volume, deadline‑driven work environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Proactive and highly responsive.
