Position: Claims Analyst / Operations Assistant
Location: New York

Premier, global reinsurance firm seeking a Claims Operations Assistant. Please read the full description, claims processing experience is REQUIRED for this role.

This position is a hybrid role in midtown NYC

Responsibilities
  • Review, analyze and process claims e-messages in the SICS system for all locations globally.
  • Ensure all incoming claim correspondence is reviewed.
  • New claims set up in system as required.
  • Added to the claim workflow system(s) and triaged accordingly.
  • Static claim management (review/chasing/closure).
  • Claim analysis and handling with bdx accounts.
  • Creation and circulation of claims management information on an as needed basis.
  • Assist with implementation and execution of special/ad hoc projects within the Operations Department.
  • Provide support to the broader Operations team to help ensure smooth and efficient monthly and quarterly closes.
  • Provide support to the (Assistant) Manager with training and management of Operations Assistants in all aspects of technical account processing, reporting and systems.
  • Help create efficiencies by reviewing existing processing and proposing updates/changes as appropriate.
  • Ensuring SOX compliance for Operations processes.
  • Ensure all functions are carried out with a high degree of quality, in a timely manner.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Previous claims and claims processing experience essential
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle a variety of duties in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ability to work under own direction and with minimal supervision – however also needs to be effective team player with ability to communicate clearly.
  • Challanges the status quo and identifies innovative solutions to solve problems and improve work process.
