Applicants must be permanent in the Clerical Associate Civil Service Title. This position is part of the Office of Fiscal Operations within the Human Resources Administration (HRA) and focuses on employee expense claim processing, auditing, and data entry.
Responsibilities- Audit and approve payments for staff members' car fare requests.
- Approve Positive Pay Decisions in Bank of America (daily).
- Retrieve check information in Bank of America to determine check status and stop payments of checks.
- Review documentation submitted by staff to support claims and determine if information submitted is accurate.
- Monitor unit mailbox and respond to requests for information from staff regarding check status and technical help.
- Review documentation for replacement checks.
- Mail checks to employees that were returned to HRA.
- A four‑year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
- Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Highly organized, attentive to detail, and capable of managing multiple tasks.

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. Certain employees who have worked for the City for two continuous years may be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
