Nyc Shelters- Housing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Case Managers on subsidy funds initiated.
• Assists individual consumers and/or property owners in completing forms.
• Provides residents, tenants, and landlords with information through regular briefings and workshop sessions.
• Coordinates high and medium risk cases with Housing Resources.
• Assembles information for the completion of necessary forms and for the preparation of reports.
• Organizes, maintains and purges various departmental and client files.
• Prepares and types correspondence, reports, forms, contracts and specialized documents from drafts, notes, dictated tapes, or brief instructions, using a computer.
• Proofreads and checks typed and other documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance with departmental policies and regulations.
• Enters and retrieves data on a daily basis and monitors a database.
• All other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but may be substituted with a High School Diploma or Associates Degree and a Real Estate License.
• Prior experience in housing counseling, business, real estate, accounting or property management a plus.
• A Valid NYS Driver’s License.
