Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Leitner Center, the Program Assistant will be responsible for overall administrative support for the Leitner Center’s program, which will support the training of public interest lawyers and advocates in Asia and general programming at the Center. This will include producing social media and traditional internal and external communications outputs, supporting administrative grant reporting and coordination, preparing other aspects of program implementation, supporting website administration, and other internal digital organization tools.

Functions
  • Researches, prepares, edits, formats, and distributes documents such as memos, news releases, the Center newsletter, reports, and web content.
  • Plans and coordinates Center events, including speakers, meetings, film and panel discussions, and provides administrative support to the Leitner Center’s annual Summer Human Rights Institute.
  • Assists with donor cultivation and stewardship and provides grants management and finance administrative support, including recording, processing, and maintaining financial records, as well as preparing materials for fundraising events.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact and main communications focal point, including by writing communications outputs systematically tracking communications and the status of requests and responses; manages the Center’s social media platforms and maintains its website, and provides design support for posts, events, the website, promotional materials, reports, and other materials.
  • Provides day-to-day administrative support to the Leitner Center faculty and staff, including scheduling, travel arrangements, filing, processing applications for student programs and fellowships, and responding to requests for information.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, such as government, international relations, human rights, or social sciences.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pre-professional or professional administrative experience.
  • Proficiency in word processing and office applications required.
  • Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and sound judgement; ability to work independently and as part of a team with staff and partners from diverse backgrounds in a positive, collaborative, and inclusive environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with communications, social media, event planning, community engagement, or organizing.
  • Experience with web platforms, Canva, InDesign, or other design software a plus.
  • Knowledge of or fluency in other languages is a significant plus.
Compensation

Minimum Starting Salary: $30,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $30,000

Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
