Department Administrator - Spanish and Portuguese New York University Overview

Position Summary:

Arts & Science is seeking a talented Department Administrator to join the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Languages and Literatures. This individual will oversee departmental operations and staff and provide administrative support for the department. Develop and implement office policies and planning procedures. Manage departmental budget, administer fellowship awards, manage faculty recruitment, and oversee registration activities. Serve as liaison with Graduate Enrollment Services regarding student financial aid.

• Required Experience: 3+ years' relevant administrative experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience supervising departmental operations and staff and administering budgets.
• Preferred Experience: Experience in higher education or non-profit environment.
• Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to provide advice, problem solve, and interact with individuals at all levels. Excellent interpersonal and writing skills. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, website design and maintenance. Near-native fluency in spoken and written Spanish.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $72,000.00 to USD $80,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
