Summer Housing Operations Coordinator - Temporary
Join St. John’s University as a Summer Housing Operations Coordinator (Temporary) and support the St. John’s Residence Village during summer conferences.
Job DescriptionThe Coordinator will manage day-to-day housing operational functions for summer conference guests, scheduling, training, and supervising student staff, providing high-quality housing facilities and linen services. Additional responsibilities include developing a staff training program, coordinating room inspections, and coordinating linen vendor deliveries and pick‑ups.
Responsibilities- Schedule and supervise student staff.
- Provide high-quality housing and linen services for overnight guests.
- Develop staff training program.
- Coordinate room inspections.
- Coordinate linen vendor deliveries and pick‑ups.
- Bachelor’s degree by May 2026.
- Experience working in a hotel or operations environment.
- Strong supervision, organizational, and communication skills.
- Enthusiastic, friendly, patient and compassionate.
- Ability to problem‑solve and work independently.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Start/End: May 1 – August 21
- Days/hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (up to 35 hrs per week, not to exceed 450 hrs).
- Reports to: Associate Director of Operations, Junior Salazar
- Location: ROTC Rm 206B/204
- Hourly Salary: $18.50 /hr.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $18.50.
