✦ The Role
As Senior Accountant, you'll be a key partner to the Controller — overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining financial records, and ensuring the agency's financial health is accurately reported and well-managed. From general ledger maintenance to payroll, reconciliations, and audit prep, you'll have broad ownership across the full accounting function.
✦ Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
- Maintain the general ledger and perform general cost accounting duties
- Process payroll for non-executive staff and run monthly producer commission reports
- Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and manage month-end close
- Reconcile bank accounts, cash disbursement accounts, customer accounts, and accounts receivable
- Verify and process accounts payable, ensuring all payments are charged to appropriate accounts
- Obtain monthly insurance company account statements, reconcile against AMS
360 data, and ensure accurate and timely payments to carriers and wholesalers - Assist with annual audit preparation by gathering necessary account documentation for the Controller
- Support proper account and policy setup in AMS
360, assist with premium financing paperwork, and help manage aged receivables collections - Provide backup support for Staff Accountant duties as needed
✦ Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 2+ years of accounting experience with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail — this is a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
