Job Title: Junior Accountant - Accounts Payable Support
Schedule: Full-Time
Location: Midtown, New York City – In-office, 5 days/week
Reports To: Junior Accountant - Accounts Payable Support
Salary Range: $85,000 per year
DescriptionJacob & Co. is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team in NYC. In this role, you will support the Accounts Payable Manager with day-to-day accounting functions, vendor engagement, and contribute to the implementation and improvement of AP automation workflows. You’ll play a key role in building scalable processes that support the company’s growth. To be successful in this role, you must be detail-oriented, well-versed in GAAP, and possess a strong sense of ownership.
Responsibilities- Set up new vendors in Business Central, ensuring complete and accurate W-9, banking, and compliance information is collected and maintained
- Enter vendor invoices and credit memos in Microsoft Business Central
- Reconcile vendor statements with Business Central reports
- Record corporate AMEX expenses in Business Central
- Book royalty accrual and reconcile accrual with actual invoices
- Compile VAT worksheets and scan/upload VAT invoices to shared drive
- Assist in calculation and quarterly filing of NYC Commercial Rent Tax (CRT)
- Support the reconciliation of intercompany due to/from accounts for US entities
- Update fixed asset schedule and record depreciation & amortization
- Review GL details and book reclassifications, if any
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Assist with various audits / insurance renewal / ad hoc projects
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or similar accounting function
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Business Central
- Solid understanding of the U.S. GAAP
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset
- Experience with AP automation tools is a plus
