Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including ledger management, account reconciliations, cash management, accruals, fixed assets, accounts receivable and payable oversight. The Accounting Manager supervises and develops accounting staff, ensures compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and collaborates with leadership and external auditors to maintain the organization’s financial health and reporting accuracy.
- Monitor cash flow, fixed assets, and capital expenditures
- Assist in maintaining compliance with Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) regulations and FQHC financial standards
- Assist in management of grant accounting, including Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act funding and restricted fund tracking
- Assist with providing information for federal and state cost reports such as OPWDD, UDS, Medicare, Medicaid, and others.
- Preparation of invoices.
- Ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records monthly including regular Trial Balance reviews.
- Supervise payroll, billing, receivables, payables, cash receipts, cash disbursements, and general ledger functions.
- Monitor and follow-up on aged receivables.
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Work collaboratively to oversee filing of tax forms including 1099s, IRS pension report.
- Reconcile bank and investment accounts, and prepares related journal entries
- Work collaboratively on annual audits and serve as liaison to external auditors
- Supervise and develop accounting staff
- Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Stays current with industry best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by CFO
Supervision of Payroll/AP Clerk.

V.Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degreein Finance, Accounting, Information Science, or Business Administration.
Advance knowledge of accounting platforms such as:
Sage, Great Plains, FundEZ, Quickbooks, etc. Experience with Accounting and B.I. packages such as Great Plains, Solomon, Quickbooks, Cognos, etc. Experience with Microsoft Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.)
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in finance and/or accounting in a healthcare environment. A28 clinic/FQHC, healthcare network, or hospital setting experience strongly preferred. Experience with cost reporting, such as Medicaid and/or Medicare preferred. CPA preferred.
VI. Necessary Skills & AbilitiesLanguage Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software and Accounting software including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, B.I. software, Outlook, Word, etc..
