Senior Manager, Technical Accounting

We are partnered with a global and investment backed growing entertainment platform with a diverse portfolio of properties across entertainment, lifestyle and art. Reporting to the VP, Group Controller, the hiring team is adding a standalone Sr. Manager of Technical Accounting to the as a first time technical accounting expert to the US team.

This role is a first ever hire to fully own the technical accounting function, and shape it's fluence as the organization continues to scale! The ideal Technical Accounting professional for this role will be comfortable leading complex technical accounting and M&A-related activities, including consolidations, purchase price accounting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. The position partners closely with domestic and international finance teams and serves as a key liaison to external auditors!

• Serve as the primary technical accounting and M&A point of contact, from due diligence through post-merger integration
• Oversee purchase price accounting, valuations, and documentation through formal technical memos
• Develop, document, and maintain U.S. GAAP accounting policies, as well as SEC Regulatory Standards; familiarity with IFRS is strongly preferred
• Lead analysis and implementation of new accounting standards (including revenue recognition and leases)
• Support financial statement preparation and consolidation processes
• Partner with auditors and manage technical accounting aspects of audits
• Manage goodwill impairment testing, intangible assets, and investment roll forwards
• Collaborate with cross-functional and international finance teams

• CPA required;
  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Public accounting background, ideally with Big 4 foundation
• 6–12 years of progressive accounting experience, having started in public accounting and moved internally, or straight public accounting experience
• Strong advisory and technical accounting experience, preferably in business combinations and M&A
• Experience in accounting advisory or technical accounting groups strongly preferred
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Proven ability to write clear, well-supported technical accounting memoranda. Position will be highly visible amongst executive leadership and stakeholders.
