Fairstead is seeking an Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable (AR/AP) Intern to join our Finance Team for the summer. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to day‑to‑day accounting operations within a dynamic and fast‑paced real estate environment. The intern will work closely with the accounting team to support AR/AP functions, gain insight into financial systems and processes, and develop practical accounting skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in accounting or finance.

• Assist with accounts payable processing, including invoice review, coding, and data entry.
• Support accounts receivable activities such as tracking payments, applying cash receipts, and resolving discrepancies.
• Perform vendor and customer account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with month‑end close activities related to AR/AP, including reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Help maintain accurate vendor and customer records in accounting systems.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries related to invoices, payments, and account balances.
• Assist with ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by the accounting team.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate financial information.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, particularly related to AR and AP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas; familiarity with Pivot Tables or VLOOKUP is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to collaborate across teams.
• Interest in gaining hands‑on experience in accounting operations within a real estate or corporate setting.

Please note, this internship will be on site at our NYC Headquarters from June 1st 2026 - July 24th 2026.
