Property Accountant

Rapidly growing real estate firm is seeking a detail‑oriented Property Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting functions for a growing real estate portfolio. This role will work closely with senior accounting and finance team members and will be responsible for day‑to‑day property and entity‑level accounting across multiple assets.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain general ledger accounting for assigned real estate entities and properties
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close processes
  • Prepare basic property‑level financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow support)
  • Record and track accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany transactions
  • Assist with CAM reconciliations and tenant billings, as applicable
  • Support lender reporting requirements and loan draw documentation
  • Assist with year‑end audit and tax preparation by providing schedules and support documentation
  • Track fixed assets, capital expenditures, and depreciation
  • Maintain organized accounting records and supporting schedules
  • Collaborate with property management, asset management, and external vendors as needed
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of real estate accounting experience (commercial and/or residential)
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting concepts
  • Experience with property management or real estate accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, App Folio, or similar)
  • Strong Excel skills (basic formulas, pivots, reconciliations)
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
