Tax Manager - CPA Firm

Our client firm is seeking a Tax Manager with high-net-worth experience. The role is based in NYC Metro and Long Island with a hybrid schedule.

• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in public accounting.
• A CPA or EA certification is required.

Candidates should be prepared to meet challenging client requirements, provide value-added services, and possess strong communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and analytical skills.

• Focus on the technical review of individual (including HNWI) tax returns with strong knowledge of trust and estate returns; experience with corporate and partnership tax returns is a plus. Supervise the preparation of tax returns.
• Develop strong client relationships and maintain steady contact with assigned clients throughout the business year.
• Monitor work progress in relation to budgeted time and scheduled completion dates.
• Keep the Partner informed on a timely basis regarding important engagement developments, including major issues that arise, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Work directly with the client’s attorneys, taxing agents, and other third parties. Assist/participate in practice development and firm management.
• Network to develop contacts and cultivate relationships.
• Develop and evaluate staff, addressing performance issues and concerns as needed.
• Mentor and motivate staff; guide staff on career and professional development.
