Location: New York

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day billing activities in support of partners, attorneys, and clients.
  • Prepare and edit proformas, generate timecard summaries, update matter and timekeeper rates, and run client reports at the request of attorneys and partners.
  • Ensure invoices are accurate, timely, and approved for monthly billing; proactively follow up with partners and internal teams to resolve billing issues.
  • Interpret and apply client Outside Counsel Guidelines and fee arrangements to ensure compliance.
  • Process electronic invoices efficiently and accurately; investigate and resolve invoice rejections or reductions in a timely manner.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with partners, attorneys, legal assistants, accounting staff, vendors, and clients while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of two years of relevant billing or accounting experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles as they relate to billing and accounts receivable.
  • Strong numerical aptitude with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with client billing agreements, Outside Counsel Guidelines, and fee arrangements preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic billing systems, third-party e-billing vendors, and invoice troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Elite 3E and eBilling

    Hub a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with partners, attorneys, and internal teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
