Accounting Manager – Beauty (Hybrid 3 days NYC)
Salary: $100-120K DOE
Must have 5–7 years of accounting experience, including experience managing direct reports.
Client OverviewOur client is a growing organization within the luxury beauty and fragrance industry.
Role OverviewThe Accounting Manager will report to senior finance leadership and play a key role in overseeing core accounting functions and supporting accurate financial reporting. This individual will balance hands‑on technical accounting responsibilities with team oversight and process enhancement initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced setting, is detail‑oriented, and enjoys improving systems and workflows.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Oversee general ledger activity and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Supervise and mentor team members handling day‑to‑day transactional accounting.
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reporting.
- Assist with external audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Help maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
- Partner cross‑functionally to support business initiatives and provide financial insight.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Contribute to special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory exposure.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience working in a multi‑entity and/or multi‑state environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP system experience strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across departments.
- Comfortable operating in a growing, evolving organization.
