Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
Location: New York
A fast-growing technology infrastructure firm based in New York is looking for a seasoned Controller to oversee corporate accounting as the company scales. The organization recently unified its data center and GPU computing operations under a new brand and now supports AI, machine learning, and other compute-heavy workloads across facilities located in the United States, Canada, and Iceland. The company provides both physical data center services and cloud-based GPU computing for enterprise customers building large-scale models and complex digital applications.
As the firm continues to expand, it needs a senior accounting leader who can build structure, ensure reporting accuracy, and strengthen internal financial operations across multiple business lines. This role will work closely with senior finance leadership and will take ownership of the company’s core accounting activities. The position is designed for someone who thrives in a high-growth environment and can balance day-to-day rigor with long-term process development.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Direct all routine accounting functions—including billing, payables, ledger management, and month-end activities.
- Produce timely and accurate internal reporting packages on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Partner with the external reporting team to support SEC filings by ensuring underlying financial data is complete and clean.
- Develop, refine, and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures appropriate for a rapidly scaling business.
- Collaborate with leaders across finance, operations, and the data center organization to ensure smooth execution of financial processes.
- Coordinate audit-related tasks, prepare required documentation, and act as a key contact for external auditors.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies, enhance accounting systems, and introduce best practices to support continued growth.
- 12-16 years hands-on corporate accounting with former public accounting experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA highly valued.
- Approximately eight or more years of progressive accounting experience, including substantial time in an in-house corporate accounting environment (not exclusively public accounting).
- Background in scaling companies or environments where systems and processes evolve quickly.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and operational accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage close cycles, reporting timelines, and compliance responsibilities with precision.
- Highly organized, detail-focused, and able to juggle multiple work streams simultaneously.
- Strong communicator who works well across teams and maintains a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
