Accounting Manager

Overview

Beacon Hill is working with a non-profit in Harlem to bring on an Accounting Manager on a contractual basis. This role will require onsite work in Harlem. This role plays a key part in supporting the organization's mission by maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles for non‑profits, and supporting audits, budgets, and grant/contract reporting. • Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure financial statements are accurate and prepared in accordance with non‑profit GAAP
• Monitor cash flow and support cash forecasting activities
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including approvals, reconciliations, and aging reviews
• Ensure timely processing of vendor payments, payroll-related entries, and revenue recognition
• Track grant and contract expenditures to ensure compliance with funder and regulatory requirement
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
