Overview
Top-Tier Family Office in Midtown, Manhattan is seeking an Accounting Manager!
Responsibilities- Oversee accounting operations across a highly complex structure of hundreds of entities
- Coordinate with private equity fund managers and third-party administrators to obtain financial data and resolve discrepancies.
- Apply strong accounting knowledge to complex transactions and investment structures
- Oversee and review monthly, quarterly, and annual books and records for 300+ partnerships, operating companies and trusts in a fast-paced office environment
- Review accounting work papers prepared for tax return preparation, ensuring technical accuracy and completeness
- Train, mentor, and support accounting staff; act as a go-to resource for technical accounting questions
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency across a high-entity-count structure
- Ensure proper accounting treatment for complex investments
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA is preferred
- Strong experience working at a family office or at a large public accounting firm
- 15+ years accounting experience
- Demonstrated strong accounting knowledge in partnership accounting
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, in-office environment
- Background in a family office, private equity, real estate, hedge fund, or public accounting setting
- Proven experience reviewing work papers for tax return preparation and coordinating with tax professionals
- Experience managing or reviewing accounting for 100+ entities
