Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Jericho, New York. In this role, you will handle critical accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to grow within the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure financial data integrity.

- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.

- Perform account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

- Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow tracking.

- Collaborate with colleagues to support audits and financial reviews.

- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

- Assist in preparing detailed financial reports for management review.

Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.

- Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries with attention to detail.

- Experience in account and bank reconciliations.

- Familiarity with accounting principles and standards.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
