Senior Accountant

A Financial Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join their team as a Senior Accountant.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and distribute daily revenue reports and balance sheet analyses
• Perform end-of-day subledger close, including journal uploads, imports, and posting
• Collaborate with the accounting team during monthly close processes
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for various accounting activities
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate and resolve variances, including bank accounts and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain balance sheet and income statement trend analyses
• Prepare quarterly financial statements
• Prepare and file commercial rent tax, sales tax, and use tax returns
• Prepare tax work papers and reporting packages and coordinate with auditors on tax filings

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA designation is a plus
• 3–5 years of experience in public or private accounting within financial services, preferably in banking
