Management company accountant

Our client is a growing real estate private equity fund manager located in NYC that is looking for a Senior Accountant with 3 to 7 years of experience working as a tax accountant, management company accountant, legal entity controller or corporate accountant. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer and/or CFO, other team members and third party service providers regarding various accounting and operational matters relating to the corporate activities of the investment manager and GP entities.

This role is perfect for Tax Accountants looking for a role that is more than just pure tax compliance work. Tax accountants with the right level of experience working with partnerships and allocations. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Management company:
  Combination/consolidation accounting and financial reporting
• GP entities:
  Combination/consolidation accounting and financial reporting
• FP&A:
  Assist with budgeting and forecasting process
• Assist with tax compliance work for the management company and GP investors including allocations.
• Treasury: work on wires and bank reconciliations.
• A/P: manage junior accountant to ensure vendors are paid timely.
• Work closely with Management, Acquisitions, Accounting and Investor Relations teams.

Required skills:

• 3 or more years of relevant experience ideally with some public accounting experience.
• Knowledge of legal entity or private equity fund accounting is a plus
• Tax compliance experience is a plus
• Strong project, process and people management skills
• Able to multitask, take initiative and work well in a team-oriented small company environment
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and accounting systems, a plus
• Personal and professional integrity of the highest level
