Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated mid-level Accountant to join our team. This role will support the daily accounting operations
, including WIP reports, union audits, insurance audits, bank reconciliation, job cost analysis, and month-end closing. The ideal candidate has experience in construction accounting
, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Enter payroll into Sage and reconcile with ADP/MITER payroll reports.
  • Run job cost through Sage for projects and ensure proper allocation of expenses.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations daily and monthly.
  • Record and reconcile inter-company transactions
    .
  • Maintain accurate Sage data records
    , including payroll rates and employee status.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset list and depreciation schedules
    .
  • Maintain Work in Progress (WIP) schedules for construction projects.
  • Assist with month-end closing and year-end financial review
    .
  • Support sales tax filings and 1099 preparation
    .
  • Serve as the primary contact for accounting-related inquiries.
  • Generate financial and accounting reports as needed.
  • Provide support on special projects or other accounting tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
  • Construction industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    .
