Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated mid-level Accountant to join our team. This role will support the daily accounting operations
, including WIP reports, union audits, insurance audits, bank reconciliation, job cost analysis, and month-end closing. The ideal candidate has experience in construction accounting
, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Enter payroll into Sage and reconcile with ADP/MITER payroll reports.
- Run job cost through Sage for projects and ensure proper allocation of expenses.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations daily and monthly.
- Record and reconcile inter-company transactions
. - Maintain accurate Sage data records
, including payroll rates and employee status. - Maintain and update fixed asset list and depreciation schedules
. - Maintain Work in Progress (WIP) schedules for construction projects.
- Assist with month-end closing and year-end financial review
. - Support sales tax filings and 1099 preparation
. - Serve as the primary contact for accounting-related inquiries.
- Generate financial and accounting reports as needed.
- Provide support on special projects or other accounting tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
- Construction industry experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
