Job Title: Staff Accountant

Location: New York, NY

Compensation: $30 - $35 / hour

A midtown professional services organization is seeking a staff accountant. This is an entry-level position responsible for performing and coordinating the accounting needs. The Staff Accountant assists with financial reports, bank and account reconciliations, general ledger, and audit preparations.

• Assist with the preparation of the daily cash report
• Monitor daily positive pay for checks and ACH’s
• Prepare bank reconciliations
• Assist with balance sheet preparation on a monthly basis
• Prepare journal entries
• Support month-end closing procedures
• Assist with the preparation of the monthly financial package
• Participate in special projects
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by management.

• Strong excel skills are a plus
• Must be able to manage time and multiple assignments
• Good communication skills required
• Must be able to work overtime, if necessary.

• Bachelors degree in Accounting required.
