Accounting Associate

Overview

Our client is a premiere accounting firm based in New York City. They are seeking an experienced Accounting Associate to join the team. The position is hybrid, and based part of the week at their beautiful office in Midtown, Manhattan. • Performing accounts payable procedures, including coding and recording vendor invoices, reviewing expense reimbursement requests from client employees, and reviewing client employee monthly credit card expenses
• Performing accounts receivable procedures, including coding and recording daily client cash receipts, contributions, grants, and other revenues
• Assisting in preparing monthly closing schedules, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Preparation of monthly/quarterly financial/operational reports including all supporting schedules.
• Preparing semi-monthly and monthly payroll journal entries for various entities.
• Quarterly 1099 and Sales Tax review for various entities.
• Purchase order review and invoice preparation for payment processing.
• Monitor and distribute email from central mailbox to various team members and other entities.
• Compiling, verifying, and analyzing financial information for senior management to support strategic and operational decision-making

• Accounting degree (Undergraduate) or working towards one
• 1+ years accounting experience, with strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, V-Lookups)

The salary ranges between $55,000-$75,000/yr, based on experience.
