A dynamic and rapidly PE firm with headquarters in New York City is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller and will play a key role in supporting the firm and broader finance function.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong foundation in general accounting who is looking to deepen their experience across month-end close, general ledger management, and AP/AR functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the month-end close, including preparation of balance sheet and P&L reconciliations
• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
• Perform account reconciliations and reclassifications
• Support the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate invoice coding and timely payments
• Assist with accounts receivable, including cash receipts and deposit tracking
• Collaborate with the accounting team to prepare audit support documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of corporate accounting experience
• Strong understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end close process
• Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables required)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
