Overview

A vertically integrated real estate firm with a focus on development projects and asset management is seeking a Development Project Accountant in their Long Island headquarters to handle the accounting and reporting for several large development, capital improvements and TI projects.

• Process, track, and submit construction draw requests for multiple projects.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers.
• Manage project budgets and anticipated cost reports.
• Prepare and maintain cash flow for assigned projects.
• Maintain accurate monthly job cost reports.
• Process and distribute payments to general contractors.
• Prepare and review AIA forms and bill appropriately (CM projects).
• Assist with the monthly and year-end closing and associated work papers.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements.
• Process corporate accounts payable invoices and review for proper coding.
• Assist with year-end audit.

• 2+ years of relevant experience at a reputable real estate company handling real estate development and construction projects.
• Preparation of construction draws and bank requisitions.
• Understanding of the month-end and year-end closing process.
• Strong and effective communicator.
• Highly organized and proactive.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of Yardi, Timberline or comparable software is a plus.

$85,000 - $100,000 plus bonus, 401K match and comprehensive health benefits.
