Job OverviewA rapidly growing technology firm specializing in AI cloud platforms is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Manhattan, NY office. This hybrid position will be the 3rd in-house accounting hire, reporting directly to the Controller and working closely with the CEO, Head of Operations, and Head of Finance. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role across all areas of accounting and finance operations.
You'll also help develop and scale processes to support the company’s continued growth. This is a broad, high-impact role requiring flexibility, ownership, and the ability to operate with both speed and precision.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reclasses across key GL accounts, maintaining accuracy and completeness in financial systems.
- Manage portions of the monthly close process, including account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Engineering to ensure accurate revenue and cost accounting in accordance with GAAP.
- Process invoices and vendor payments, support vendor onboarding, and ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
- Support customer billing, collections, and cash application processes, coordinating with Sales and Revenue Operations to align contract-to-cash workflows.
- Reconcile bank accounts, monitor daily cash balances, assist with cash forecasting, and support credit line setup and treasury initiatives.
- Assist with payroll accounting and related reconciliations.
- Maintain and enhance accounting and reporting systems, ensuring data integrity and automation of key processes.
- 3-6 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally including startup or high-growth company experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or working toward CPA a plus.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS as well as ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.
- Experience with Net Suite and Salesforce highly preferred.
