Overview
Senior Accountant — Long Island, NY
• 100 – 120K
Full-Time, Onsite (M–Th 9–5:30, Fri 9–1, summer Fri 9–2)
Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join a fast-growing outsourced CFO and bookkeeping firm. This role combines client-facing responsibilities with team oversight, ensuring accurate financial reporting and high-quality service delivery. The Senior Accountant will manage client accounts, lead in-office and offshore staff, and provide analytical insights to help clients achieve their business goals.
The Ideal Candidate- CPA (preferred) or strong equivalent background
- Analytical thinker with the ability to interpret and advise on financial data
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple client portfolios
- Personable, professional, and able to build trusted client relationships
- Creative problem-solver who brings new ideas to improve processes
- Oversee client portfolios, serving as the primary accounting lead
- Manage daily accounting operations, including GL, AP/AR, and reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead and mentor a team of 2+ accountants (in-office and offshore)
- Coordinate with auditors, tax professionals, and client stakeholders
- Implement accounting policies and internal controls for efficiency and accuracy
- Contribute ideas and best practices to enhance client service delivery
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
CPA strongly preferred - 5+ years progressive accounting experience, including supervisory exposure
- Proven experience handling multiple clients/accounts simultaneously
- Proficiency with accounting platforms (Quick Books, Xero, or similar)
- Strong communication skills, able to explain financial concepts clearly
- Analytical mindset, detail-oriented, and highly organized
