AVP, Data Engineer (Full Stack)

LPL Financial is looking for a talented and experienced Data Engineer to join our data engineering team responsible for the Investor Experience system modernization initiative. This role will have a direct impact on our ~2.4M user base and will collaborate with Business Partners, Architects, Quality Assurance, Release Management, and the Change Control board to plan, design, develop, and implement solutions for the business needs.

Overview

The Data Engineer will work in a fast‑paced, motivated team, focusing on providing the highest quality of data to consumers  candidate is expected to have hands‑on experience and will work with a motivated team in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire a team of onshore and offshore developers to build, deploy, and support best‑in‑class software solutions.
  • Hands‑on coding and implementation of resilient, scalable, and high‑performance applications.
  • Leverage modern tech stacks and development best practices to deliver business value.
  • Partner with business units, technology teams, and product owners to align solutions with strategic goals.
  • Work closely with QA, Release Management, and Dev Ops to ensure SDLC compliance.
  • Develop technical documentation outlining system components and workflows.
  • Oversee and participate in Agile/Scrum POD activities to ensure timely delivery.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in software development with Angular, C# .NET, AWS, Python, and SQL.
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS services including Glue, EKS, S3, Mongo

    DB/DocDB, Postgres, API Gateway, and Kafka.
  • 4+ years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • 5+ years of experience with relational and No

    SQL databases, including performance tuning;
    Snowflake experience is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience with source control tools (Git Hub, Bitbucket) and CI/CD pipelines (Team City, Octopus, Jenkins, Jules).
  • 3+ years of experience in financial services or brokerage firms.
Core Competencies
  • Proficient in API development using C# .NET, EKS, and SQL.
  • Skilled in batch job processing with AWS Glue, S3, Python, Scala, and Kafka.
  • Experience in UI development using Angular

    JS.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Expertise in software design, code refactoring, unit testing, and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with external‑facing platforms.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake.
  • AWS Developer or Solution Architect Associate certification.
  • Strong understanding of OOP concepts, data modeling, and design patterns/frameworks.
Pay Range

$140,475 – $234,125 per year, plus a highly competitive LPL Total Rewards package (401(k) matching, health benefits, employee stock options, paid time off, volunteer time off, and more).
