As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will greet residents and staff with professional customer service, communicate clearly, and document observations as needed.

** What You'll Do:*
* + Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.

+ Respond to incidents, disputes, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.

+ Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the facility and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance and/or access concerns.

+ Monitor entrances, common areas, and restricted spaces, verifying authorization for access and/or visitor entry in accordance with site procedures.

+ Complete accurate reports on incidents, patrol observations, and unusual activity, and communicate significant updates to site contacts during shift change.

* Minimum Requirements:

* + Hold a New York State Security Guard License.

+ Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.

+ Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.

+ Be at least 21+ years of age.

+ CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
